Our Hister Forklift Review

The Hyster DX forklift range appeared after the Hyster XM forklift range from 1998 to 2006. The HysterDX forklift range has been superseded by the HysterTX forklift range.

Hister Forklifts aims to produce these trucks with higher performance and longer lasting forklifts than the closest priced competitors in the Toyota 7 Series.

Some basic improvements from the XM range

Service Intervals-End users can save maintenance costs if they increase up to 3000 hours between regular services.

Warranty-Introduced a 3-year warranty option. The standard was 1200 hours s 12 months, but the 3-year warranty has been extended to 3 years and 3600 hours (conditions apply).

Hister Parts Promise-This is where you get the trick, they always had Woolworths promises for their parts, if you find Hister Parts elsewhere they will give it 10 % Will be defeated. Side Access Panel-Changed access to the engine bay to add a swingaway side panel and a forward leaning bonnet. This gives more access to technicians who need to repair the forklift.

Floor Panels-The side access panels also include lift-away floor panels for unlimited access to the engine and drivetrain. Technicians tend to like forklifts because they are notorious for being difficult to work with.

Steering-Hydrostatic steering has been around for some time, but Hyster has redesigned it with 40% fewer service parts.

Dash-The dash has been redesigned with a steel finish in mind for superior wear and durability.

Cab Installation-The driver cab is suspended at four points on the chassis and has a rubber block mount on the steel axle. It provides a very comfortable ride, extends the life of components due to vibrations and road shocks, and helps with operator back number issues.

Operator cabin design

Hyster Forklifts has certainly changed the operating cabin enough to notice the difference between the Xm and DX.

The Hyster has several unique features, including the operator’s hydraulic capabilities that come standard next to the seat and a monotrol pedal that allows direction and acceleration with a single pedal. A wise word, monotrol pedals take some getting used to. We don’t really like it, but once the operators get used to it, they love it.

There’s nothing really new here as it contains all the standard stuff like. Hour meter Coolant temperature and fuel, warning light, charging circuit, engine oil pressure, automatic transmission oil temperature, seat belt fixing, glow plug, fuel deposit diesel only gauge. Air limits, brake fluid levels and low coolant warning lights are optional.

The steering column also tilts to the operator’s position and the frame includes large non-slip side steps.

Generally they came with twp option LPG or diesel, it will be quite rare to find petrol or duel fuel options on these forklifts

Optional equipment

Hyster forklifts usually offer many optional additional features to consider. The HysterDx range is the same, so double check what you’re looking at when buying a used HysterDX forklift.

Manual Transmission-This was provided, but we are willing to bet. No one came to Australia.

Lever-Forward / Reverse lever hand / foot control, hand control with manual transmission, etc., there are quite a few options to consider here.

Lighting and Warning Equipment-Complete lighting and warning kit options are also included.

Weather Covers-Includes rain shelter, windshield and wipers, roll-up and tip-up rear and side curtains.

Exhaust and Air System-Vertical Exhaust or Dual Element

Valves and hoses-Standard with two valves, but four valves are very easy to implement. You can add many additional accessories to your forklift, such as push-pull attachments.

The range of this forklift was the range of high star bread and butter sold in and around the Asia Pacific region. Between 1998 and 2007, it was eventually replaced by the TX range. The average new retail price was between $ 25,000 and $ 35,000, depending on where you were looking.

Used HysterDx forklifts can be found in the range of $ 5 000 to $ 15000, depending on condition and age. Since it is a Mazda engine, it is very easy to find parts for maintenance and maintenance.
