Ferrari 458 Italia Interior and Vehicle Dynamic Assistance

The Ferrari 458 Italia replaces the F430, which was born out of a whole new design and innovation technology developed from the company’s experience in F1. The form and volume of each Ferrari is the result of an integration of aerodynamics and design. In the development of the 458 Italia, the styling process was closely linked to aerodynamic development in order to turn technical essentials into unique features.

The vehicle’s VDA, or vehicle dynamic assistance, provides technical assistance to the driver in assessing both the condition of the vehicle and his own performance. The VDA is activated when Manettino is in the RACE, CT, and CST settings and provides information to allow the driver to evaluate the ideal operating condition of the vehicle. The algorithm evaluates the condition of the car (brake, engine, tires, engine temperature) based on dynamic parameters such as lateral and longitudinal acceleration, rpm, and speed. The VDA warns the driver by displaying the following abbreviations: Warm up when you need a component Warm up further. Go when the optimal conditions for reaching maximum performance are achieved. Overheating is required if the component is overheated and cooled.

For the 458 Italia interior, the standard seats are decorated with full-grain leather with matching stitching. The Carter reflects the paint color of the vehicle, but the backrest construction is made of magnesium, the headrests are fixed and standard manual adjustment is possible. You can optionally order electronic adjustments for vertical, backrest, height and tilt. Another option provides the owner with electronic management of memory control, heating, and lumbar and lateral adjustments on the driver’s side. For the most passionate drivers, the 458 Italia is available as an option on racing seats. It is lightweight and designed for improved containment thanks to its carbon fiber construction. Racing seats are available in three different sizes that allow you to manually adjust and move the backrest angle. The standard trim is made of leather, but is optionally available in leather / Alcatraz upholstery.

The 458 Italia Center Console features a sculptural aluminum casting that houses the F1 gearshift panel and its dynamic controls (launch control button, reverse, automatic switch to put the gearbox into automatic mode).

The cockpit is designed for residents with a height of 99.5%. The luggage compartment has a capacity of 230 liters and can carry three specially designed bags with a total capacity of 110 liters. The rear bench can also be used to store two other custom bags with a total capacity of 140 liters.
