The best NES accessories that made a big mistake

The best NES accessories that failed

When it comes to Nintendo video game consoles, the most popular ones will have to be the original NES. Formally called the Nintendo Entertainment System, it was considered the best for 16-bit video games in the 80’s and early 90’s. If you own Nintendo at the time, the kids will flock to your home to exchange games with you. But, as I said, that was years ago. My original NES, along with its many accessories, is safely stored in my cabinet. Oh yeah, NES also had a lot of accessories like the Nintendo Wii, Sony PlayStation 3, and Microsoft’s Xbox 360. Also, let NES know that it’s probably the most accessory ever created for a single video game console. .. Unfortunately, very few accessories I consider successful, such as the NES Max and NES Advantage controllers. Others are obvious failures.

So I feel nostalgic for everything, so let’s talk about the best NES accessories that have failed. Big time.

1. Power gloves

Surprisingly, Nintendo didn’t actually make power gloves. Designed and created by Grant Goddard and Cooper Davis, and implemented by Mattel. Similar to a glove with a NES mini controller on the wrist. Perhaps you can use power gloves to grab objects and move the cursor over the screen. Only two games have been released for this accessory: Super Glove Ball and Bad Street Brawler. Out of curiosity (and the TV commercials looked great!), I actually saved all my lunch money to get the power gloves. The only game I got was the Super Globe Ball. Basically, it is a game where you can catch and throw the ball on the game screen using power gloves. Anyway, gloves don’t always work and have been considered the worst console accessory in Nintendo’s history.

2. Roll & Rocker

Looking at LJN’s Roll & Rocker, it is the predecessor of Wii Fit. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work like the Wii fit. It was ridiculous, but I personally didn’t have it from my parents. Also, they couldn’t stand their only daughter playing video games instead of playing Barbie dolls! Either way, I’ve seen a friend use it on Saturday evening, and she was disappointed. It doesn’t work at all. But I’m not surprised. LJN has a reputation for making bad games, so I’m not surprised by Roll & Rocker’s performance.

3. Konami Laser Scope

The Konami Laser Scope is one of the things my brother hated most. I was hated because I destroyed my childhood dream of experiencing the feeling of being a fighter pilot. The laser scope resembles some kind of pilot headgear, so it’s a good idea to use it when playing fighter games. The only bad thing is how you fire. You literally say (or shout) “It’s a fire!” This can be very annoying, especially if you’re trying to play NES at night. Imagine a Sunday night playing secretly with a laser scope and yelling, “It’s a fire!” A surefire way to get into trouble with your parents!

4. Light zapper

Wait, what? Light zapper? How was this added to the list? Now, by being surprised to find that I had five light zappers in my cabinet and all of them only worked for days or months until I literally gave up when the fifth broke. Let’s do it. Light Zapper uses a light system that freezes the TV screen black and colors the target white. When the light reflects off the zapper, it connects to the target on the screen. However, this happens completely randomly. In other words, even if you point the zapper closer to the target, you can still miss the target. But I don’t know if it has anything to do with the TV model.
